Dependency Depends on You

The debt crisis is at the top of nearly everyone's mind lately, but there is another crisis that needs attention: the dependency crisis. The Heritage Institute recently released the 2012 Index of Dependence on Government, which, as you might have guessed, shows that dependency has grown rapidly in the last ten years.

Obama’s Campaign Slogan [Contest]

It will be difficult for Obama to run on "Hope & Change" and "Yes We Can" in the upcoming election as both of these slogans will simply remind the populace of the great distance between the public's expectations and the administrations actual performance. Conversely, I doubt we will see any campaign slogans that actually fit Obama's performance . . . luckily, we have readers like you!

Obamacare: A Woman’s Choice

Nancy Pelosi is one of the most powerful women in the world. She is also responsible for one of the most powerful examples of how ridiculous and thoughtless the legislative rush to pass Obamacare was. That soundbite has caused many chuckles on the right, but the fact is that Pelosi was right. We did have to pass Obamacare to find out what was in it. Obamacare is a constantly unfolding law with hundreds of sections left open to interpretation to another powerful woman: the Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sibelius.

Man in Desperate Need of Valentine’s Day Advice

Alright everybody, it's Valentine's Day and I still haven't formulated my plan of attack. My lovely wife of eight years and the mother of my two children deserves something special today but I am torn on what to do. I am not swimming in money, but would love to surprise her with a big gift that I know she'll love (I can't tell you what it is just in case she reads this).

Do Third Party Political Ads Distort Political Races? [audio]

Senator Jon Tester recently invited Congressman Denny Rehberg in a ban on third-party ads. You can hear the details of the offer from the Communications Director of the Tester Campaign, Aaron Murphy. I understand why any campaign would want to get negative ads out of the race, but I have difficulty seeing the harm in positive ads. The whole issue has me a bit conflicted. Here are the two reasons why the issue is so troublesome to me.
